NEW MANAGEMENT AT NEPTUN SHIP DESIGN

Paul Brzesina has spent the last 15 years with the TKMS group, the naval defence business of thyssenkrupp, where he begun in the naval surface vessel division in Hamburg, formerly known as Blohm + Voss Naval, before joining the submarine division in Kiel, formerly known as Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft (HDW). He was involved in the merger of the two divisions and the restructuring of the sales organisation back then. Afterwards, he led several international submarine sales campaigns such as the early phase of the bilateral 212CD programme between Germany and Norway. In his last position, Paul Brzesina was the Programme Director for the 218SG class submarines for Singapore and Managing Director of TKMS Singapore, the in-service support branch for the 218SG submarines. Paul Brzesina has a background in general management, is very familiar with the maritime industry and ecosystems and possesses profound expertise in international sales and project management. “I really look forward to joining NSD and continuing on the current path of my predecessor. NSD left an imprint on over 225 ships in only 30 years – that is impressive and demonstrates its unique skill set and know-how in naval architecture and marine engineering across a wide range of different ship designs. For me, this is ‘Made in Germany’ and ‘German Mittelstand’ at its best.”
The current MD, Dr. Tjerk de Vries who accompanied NSD over the last two years, will remain in place until January 2026 to secure a proper hand-over. “I liked working with NSD and initiating the necessary future-oriented transformation. Today we see the first benefits and that the changes start to work out. With Paul we found the right successor!” The shareholders of NSD thank him for his efforts and commitment.
The team of NSD would like to extend a warm welcome to Paul Brzesina on the new role. We are looking forward to having a successful journey together!
