NEW MANAGEMENT AT NEPTUN SHIP DESIGN

At the beginning of April 2025, a change in leadership was imminent at Neptun Ship Design (NSD): Tjerk Johan de Vries took over as sole managing director. He will strengthen the company's strong foundation while expanding into new markets. De Vries: "NSD has a significant market advantage through its comprehensive coverage of all technical and shipbuilding disciplines. I look forward to further expanding and developing this diversity and taking on new and greater challenges together with the employees. The Neptun Ship Design brand will become more visible again." With more than 25 years in various management positions, both in the maritime industry and in aerospace, de Vries brings with him a strong network and diverse experience. Dr. Dr. de Vries worked as CTO at the classification society GL in Hamburg, where he drove the maritime merger between DNV and GL from 2014 onwards. He later worked for DNV-GL in the London office as Regional Director for Western Europe and Africa. Dr. de Vries is also no stranger to NSD, having been a consultant at the company for a year. During this time, he initiated internal optimization processes and prepared the development of new market segments. The change at the top will also be accompanied by internal restructuring that will strengthen a more dynamic approach and focus on our own projects. Stephan Merkel, at the helm for almost 30 years and most recently sole Managing Director, left the company at his own request at the same time.
