New 12,500 tdw MPP design gains AiP

Recent concept of Neptun Ship Design brings a next gen 12,500 tdw multi-purpose vessel. It features methanol as fuel and recently was awarded with Approval in Principle (AiP) by classification society Lloyds Register.

With single-hold configuration in dimensions of 100.44/86.52 x 17.60 x 13.25 m it provides as much as 754,000 cft intake. It is perfectly fitted regarding remote locations: equipped with two cargo cranes of 250 t SWL each (combined 500 t), partly folding hatch-cover panels and limited draught whilst inherent stability. Deckhouse located forward provides maximum clearance over stern area. State-of-the-art cargo equipment integrated, with full operational flexibility by e.g. multiple lashing and movable bulkhead systems, tween deck adjustments and quick bulk transformation.

Excellent performance and inherently low footprint are key objectives during design. One step further, the design incorporates fuel of methanol from the very early design. Although selective by having the “ready notation”, the concept is considered as fully applied. This also includes constructional integration of pre-defined storage tank arrangement.
